Radio in Schools launches its latest call for podcasts with
Small Talk, in association with Fun Kids. For the whole of 2010, we’re calling all schools to create your own short podcasts sharing news from your school, with a selection being played out LIVE on Fun Kids and showcased on Radio in Schools.
Radio in Schools is a national podcasting service that promotes speaking, listening and creativity across the curriculum.
Key to the service is the belief that everybody has stories to tell and somewhere to share them. Radio in Schools provides really simple online tools to create your podcasts and offers a platform so you can easily share news and stories with local and national communities.
Fun Kids is the radio station for children under 10 and their families. It broadcasts on DAB Digital Radio in London and online at
funkidslive.com.

The
Small Talk competition will run throughout 2010 and we are looking for podcasts each month to be played out on Fun Kids and showcased on Radio in Schools. You could also win some fantastic prizes including one of three Roberts Digital Radios and goodie bags for your school.
Your podcast should be no longer than 3 mins long and can be about
anything happening in your school, which may include the following:
- - A local trip
- - School Visitors
- - Interviews
- - Local issues
- - Book & Film Reviews
- - Anything else that’s going on in your school!
Don’t forget there are loads of useful tips, guides, podcasts from the professionals and lesson plans in the Radio in Schools Resources section. Those nice people at Fun Kids have also provided loads of audio beds and real life radio jingles for you to use in your podcasts and get creative.
Each month, Fun Kids and Radio in Schools will pick the best podcast to be played out live on Fun Kids.
