TERMS AND CONDITIONS

RULES
The following rules (“Rules”) together with Radio in Schools ("RiS") general and competition terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) (which can be found at www.radioinschools.co.uk apply to Small Talk with Radio in Schools and Fun Kids, ("the Competition") which will be ongoing throughout 2010 from Monday 1st February 2010 until Friday December 31st 2010 (“the Duration”). The "Radio Station" is Fun Kids.

Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. The Terms and Conditions are available on request from Radio in Schools.

The “Small Talk” Competition
Schools signed up to Radio n Schools are asked to use the Virtual Studio to create simple news reports from their school. These can be about anything at all that’s important or current in your schools. Your podcasts could be based on the following:

- local trip
- School Visitors
- Interviews
- Local issues
- Book & Film Reviews
- Anything else that’s going on in your school!

Don’t forget there are loads of useful tips, guides, podcasts from the professionals and lesson plans in the Radio in Schools Resources section. Those nice people at Fun Kids have also provided loads of audio beds and real life radio jingles for you to use in your podcasts and get creative!

Topics should be interesting and entertaining. It’s then down to the teacher from the class to submit ‘the best of class’ to Radio in Schools by emailing the podcast link to info@radioinschools.co.uk. A panel from Radio in Schools and Fun Kids will select one finalist from the entries each month. Each school finalist will have their podcast played on Fun Kids and showcased on the Radio in Schools website.

The audio submitted should not be longer than 3 minutes in duration.

1. Details of the Competition
1.1 To enter the Competition an Entrant must go online www.radioinschools.co.uk/join and register their details. Online registration will open at 8:00am on Monday Febraury 1st 2010. Entries may be submitted any time from 8:00am on Monday Febraury 1st 2010 throughout the year and the closing date for all entries is 12pm on Friday 31st December 2010. Winning schools will be notified by the Radio in Schools team by phone and/or email.
1.2 Schools will either need to be already registered to use the Radio in Schools service or they can sign up as new schools for one month’s free trial. Once signed up to the free trial, there is no obligation to upgrade to the full paid account to enter this competition draw. If schools choose not to upgrade to the full paid account after the one month free trial, their account will be disabled or deleted.
1.3 Radio in Schools and Fun Kids may play highlights from any entry on Fun Kids digital radio station, funkidslive.com and/or post links on the Radio in Schools website during or after the entirety of the Competition.

3. Prizes

3.1 Each school finalist will have their work played on air on Fun Kids and showcased on the Radio in Schools and Fun Kids website.

Winning podcasts must have parental permission/clearance for their children to be showcased on air and appear in publicity photographs and for their voice to be recorded and broadcast on Radio in Schools and Fun Kids.
