Media Exposure and Children: balancing risk and opportunity

Another day another warning about children and the dangers of the media. Today, Dr Linda Papadopoulos’s report for the Home Office warns children are being increasingly exposed to sexual imagery and their parents have limited opportunities to stop it.

These warnings are certainly not to be ignored. But before we panic and pull the plug on TV, mobiles and internet connections for the under 16s, let us remember the truly amazing world of opportunity offered by the modern media.
